How to wash a dog bed: the cover is the part you wash
"Machine washable" almost always means the cover, not the foam. This guide walks through what the brands actually instruct — and the one bed in this group whose foam core is not washable at all.
The general rules
- Unzip the cover. Remove hair and shake out the foam before washing the cover.
- Cold water, gentle cycle. K9 and EHEYCIGA both say machine wash cold. Heat can damage foam and waterproof coatings.
- Air dry the foam core. Never soak or machine-wash the foam unless the brand says so. EHEYCIGA states the foam core is not washable.
