How to choose a dog bed: start with the dog, not the bed

Most "how to choose" guides list features. This one works backwards from your dog and ends in the real products you can compare today.

The decision path

1. Start with the dog, not the bed

Size, age, sleeping style, and the problems you are solving — chewing, accidents, joint support, heat. The bed follows the dog.

2. Separate construction from claims

Layered foam, memory + support, solid foam, shredded fill — these are facts. 'Orthopedic,' 'clinically proven,' and 'vet recommended' are marketing words unless a study is linked.

3. Check the fields that change daily life

Removable cover? Machine washable? Waterproof backing? Warranty terms and what they exclude?

4. Compare on one table

Put the candidates side by side on the same fields — the eight-bed comparison does this for you.

Then route yourself by need

These routes name a researched product and the verifiable reason it is listed.
